SOLE BAY COMMUNITY BUS

The Sole Bay Community Bus aka ‘Mr Bus’, see below for the latest timetable.

Sole Bay Community Bus, is run in partnership with Halesworth Area Community Transport (HACT).

Mr Bus starts its journey from Sole Bay Health Centre, Reydon, we drive into Nightingale Drive, The Drive, Halesworth Road, along Lowestoft Road, (calling at Oaklands House,) into Covert Road, Mount Pleasant, Windsor Road, (calling at Pitches View), Wangford Road, ( The REYDON LOOP) and Into the Town stopping at the Southwold, Market Place, High Street and Outside Fat Face, on into Fieldstile Road, stopping near the Library, (remember your library books) into Marlborough Road and down to the The Pier, (feel the wind on your face, look out for sea gulls..IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE LUCKY IF YOU GET SPLATTERED..Hav fun with the amusements) along North Parade, look at the waves and the surfers. !! Then squeezing down Pinkneys Lane, pick up your coffee.. to the The Red Lion, (time for a quick pint) continuing on to Ferry Road, The Caravan Park, (you could hop off here and catch the Ferry over to Walberswick, or stroll along the Harbour) the bus turns around and then back to The Southwold Market Place, The High Street, Station Road. etc. Our little Town, offers you a unique shopping experience., so take time to enjoy it.

Please NOTE this bus is for everyone, NOT just for older people. You can hop on/off anywhere on the route, providing it is safe to do so!

The timetable varies a little through the year:

Summer May 1st to Septmber 31st : On Mondays and Thursdays we provide servcies for the day from 9.45 am until 16.40. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday is morning servcies only.

Winter October 1st to April 30th. Servcies are morning only.

Mr Bus has a rest on Tuesdays and he gets a wash and brush up!

Bus pass passengers are free, for adults it is £1 per journey. Children over 5years .50p Under 5yrs free.

Mr BUS is non profit making and we rely upon volunteers to staff and drive the bus. Very occasionally the bus may not run to schedule, due to staff sickness, mechanical issues or traffic problems. Please be patient. It is at the Driver’s descretion to divert the route if necessary and to refuse entry onto the bus.

The Community Bus, can be hired on days, evenings when it is not being used, but will be driven by one of our MIDAS trained drivers. For details and a quote for your event, please contact: sbcfund326@gmail.com
